Hundred is the only weapon that can counter the mysterious Savage life form attacking Earth. To become a Slayer who wields this Hundred, Hayato Kisaragi successfully enrolls in the marine academy city ship Little Garden. However he feels a strange yet familiar sense of incongruity towards Emile Crossford, his roommate who somehow knows him from somewhere. On top of that, as soon as he enters the school, he is challenged to a duel by the "Queen" and the school's most powerful Slayer, Claire Harvey.

Hayato Kisaragi

Hayato is the male protagonist of Hundred. Hayato became a Slayer in order to obtain state-of-the-art medical treatment for his sister. This story begun 10 years ago, when he while fleeing from the Savages' with one little girl, but unfortunately that girl slaughter by savage and left amount of virus in her gaping wound. In an attempt to save the girl, Hayato sucked some of the fluids causing him to become a Variant himself.

Variant is the designation for who have survived exposure to the Savages and obtained a greatly increased affinity for Hundreds as a result. He has the highest known compatibility with a Hundred and his Hundred the Flying swallow is chevalier type that takes the form of a sword and a shoulder guard. When he first met Emilia he didn't realize that she was really a girl until sometime later, but upon discovering the truth, he agreed to keep her secret. He was shown to be slightly uncomfortable sometimes whenever Emilia was showing him affection and would always blush when around her or other women who show their romantic feelings toward him. Eventually, Hayato admits his true feelings toward Emilia and they officially begin a romantic relationship.

Emilia Hermit

Emilia is the female protagonist of Hundred. She is a silver-haired girl from the Britannia Empire and Hayato's roommate. She initially poses as a boy under the name Emile Crossfode with only a few people aware of her secret until she eventually reveals the truth about herself. She and Hayato are together during the second Savage attack 10 years earlier, but Hayato only has vague recollections of the event which results in her becoming a Variant. During their encounter with the Savages at Zwei Island, Hayato realizes her true identity. She is a citizen of the Gudenburg Empire by birth, and eventually reveals that she is Emilia Gudenburg, the Empire's third princess. Her Hundred is the Arms Shroud that is an innocence type able to change into any form of weapon, something no other Slayer's Hundred can do. Like Hayato, she is also a Varian. She loved Hayato very much and known to be very affectionate towards him but she does not care about the rumors circulating their relationship as everyone believes them to be gay. Eventually, Hayato and Emilia begin an official relationship.

Claire Harvey

Claire is the highest-ranked Slayer in Little Garden who is from the United States of Liberia, and called the Queen. The newly-arrived Hayato is forced to duel her to prevent the expulsion of two students who arrived late to the entrance ceremony because they are looking for him at the airport when he arrived. During the duel Hayato accidentally gropes her and she goes all out and defeats him, but the duel is called a draw and the students are allowed to stay. After Hayato saves her from a Savage and, later, accidentally kisses her, she falls in love with him. Her Hundred is a Dragoon Type where it can utilize multiple cannons or transform into a large powerful rifle, but in doing so can drain much of her energy. She is also one of the few people who are aware of secret that Emilia is really a girl.

Sakura Kirishima

Voiced by: Mayu Yoshioka

She is a popular idol who falls in love with Hayato after seeing him defeat the Trenta Savage at Zwei Island. Actually she had meet Hayato and Karen at a shelter in Gudenberg during the second Savage attack. She only remembers Karen and wasn't able to get Hayato's name at the time. After that incident, she lives with her father whom she never meets. When she later falls ill from an unknown illness, her father sold her to the Warslran Research Facility, where subjects like her are injected with vaccines that are developed from the fluids recovered from defeated Savages. She is the only test subject who survived and, like Hayato and Emilia, she is also a Variant and a Slayer.

Karen Kisaragi    

Voiced by: Kaya Okuno

Hayato's younger sister who is ill. Hayato became a Slayer in order to obtain first-class treatment for her. While staying in the hospital she is often seen playing tarot cards, where she has become sort of a clairvoyant. she already suspected Emilia was a girl at the moment she met her, until she was later convinced otherwise. She later becomes good friends with popular idol Sakura.

Liddy Steinberg

Voiced by: Rika Kinugawa

Little Garden's student council Vice President who is in charge of enforcement, she was very loyal to Claire and can be very uptight when enforcing the school's rules and regulations. Her Hundred takes the form of a lance and a shield.

Erica Candle

Voiced by: Yui Makino

She is also student council Vice President and she has a high admiration for Claire, however she is mostly in charge of strategic planning, were it is suggested that she has certain feelings for her. Her Hundred, the Everlasting, is an Arsene type, which takes a form of a massive chained yoyo that she uses for restraining.

Fritz Granz

Voiced by: Wataru Hatano

He is Hayato classmate. His Hundred takes the form of a sniper rifle. He had a childhood friends named Latia, he often pokes fun at her. He is curious about the relationship between Hayato and Emilie and often teases them about their relationship, including sometimes referring to them as a couple on occasion.

Latia Saint-Émilion

Voiced by: Yuka Ōtsubo

She is classmates with Hayato and Emilia, she is a Fritz's partner and childhood friend. Her Hundred is a close quarter melee type.

Charlotte Dimandias

Voiced by: Yui Horie

She is a child prodigy who serves as the Little Garden's only main technical expert and chief researcher on Hundreds. Her authority is equal to that of the student council, that she can go against them or question their decisions. She is best friends with Emilia.

Souffle Clearrail

Voiced by: Rina Satō

Sakura's manager, she is also a genetic engineer who treated her when she is struck by an unknown illness. Both she and Charlotte attended the same university and are even classmates.

Judal Harvey

Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya

Liza and Claire's older brother. He is the president of the Warslran Research Facility. He acts professionally but also seems rather sadistic and unsympathetic.

In this story people using some kind of magical machine called Drag-Ride as a weapon. Drag-ride used as a suit by soldier to fight some monster form abyss called gargoyle. Five years ago, a revolt has overthrown the Arcadia empire. There is one person take down 1200 old empire soldier with just only one Black Drag-Ride, then he was called “Black Hero”. The Black Hero just gone without clue and no one know his identity. After the fall of old empire then this kingdom become new empire called Atismata. The old empire's former prince, Lux Arcadia, accidentally trespasses in a female-only bathing area, and witnesses the new kingdom's princess Lisesharte Atismata naked and her secret. After a duel with Lisesharte, Lux attends the female-only academy where they train students to become royal Drag-Knights.

Lux Arcadia

The main character of this story, and the seventh crown Prince of the Arcadia Empire that was destroyed in a revolt five years prior to the start of the series and Nicknamed "The Weakest Undefeated Drag-Knight" due to having never lost a fight. He is later revealed to be the dangerous and mysterious "Black Hero" who destroyed 1200 drag-rides of the empire during the coup d'etat and single-handedly ended the war in the process. He wields a Wyvern Drag-Ride and the Divine Drag-Ride "Bahamut". His mother died in a carriage accident when he was young, and the people refused to help him out of resentment towards the Royal family, with only Philuffy showing him kindness. He failed to reason with his father the emperor about the people's suffering, and his older brother Fugil convinced him of doing the coup to protect Philuffy, only for his brother to betray him by killing the emperor and the royal court, leaving him and Airi to pay for the debt towards the old kingdom. He is also engaged to Krulcifer.

Lisesharte Atismata    

Voiced by: Lynn

One of the four heroines, called "Lisha". Her nickname is "The Scarlet War Princess" and wields the Divine Drag-Ride "Tiamat". She is the princess of the Kingdom of Atismata. After her duel with Lux and  her life saving by Lux, she falls in love with him and blushes anytime she's around him, she also gets jealous when other girls get close to him. In episode 2, she finds out Lux is the 'Black Hero' when he comes to her rescue using his Bahamut. She bears the crest of the old empire below her navel, something she can't allow anyone to see. Five years ago she was kidnapped and used to negotiated with her father, the instigator of coup. Abandoned by her father, she was imprisoned and marked by arcadia crest. She challenged Lux to a duel on the first day was because he may have seen that crest. Her father died at a young age during the war along with her sister while her mother died from an illness leaving her orphaned. As a result, her aunt became the current queen of the New Kingdom and adopted Lisha thus making her the princess. However, because of her tragic past and the circumstances by which she gained her position, she does not know how to behave like a princess and even dislikes her position until she met Lux.
 

Krulcifer Einfolk

One of the four heroines. The adopted daughter of the Einfolk House from the northern religious country of Ymir. She wields the Divine Drag-Ride "Fafnir", having an adult attitude and try to calm in any situation. She's the last survivor of the people from the Ruins, so various nobles of numerous kingdoms are after her because she can unlock the ruins and its lost technology. She was to be married to Kreutzer Balzeride, but after Lux defeats Balzeride in a duel, she falls in love with him, while her adoptive family sees Lux as a good match. She likes teasing Lux and even kissed him twice in front of Lisha during their engagement.
 

Philuffy Aingram

Voiced by: Yurika Kubo

One of the four heroines. Lux's childhood friend who is frail, has a notably large bust, and has a sleepy expression on her face. She wields the Divine Drag-Ride "Typhon". She comes from the powerful and influential Aingram merchant house and took Lux and Airi in after their mother's death. It is revealed that Philuffy was a victim of human experimentation using poisons and weapons by military authorities by the old Arcadia Empire who ignored her sister Relie's pleas for her release. It was this incident that made Lux decide to join Fugil's coup d'etat and pilot the "Bahamut" though he has since forgotten the incident after several years. She should be dead after being an experiment, but somehow she survived and live till present and meet Lux again. Lux finally found out there is an ragnarok monster seed plan inside her body long time ago, that can make her lose control of herself and turn her into abyss.

Celistia Ralgris     

Voiced by: Risa Taneda

One of the four heroines. She's a young woman of the Duke House, one of the four Great Nobles is famous for being a man-hater. She wields the Drag-Ride "Lindworm" and she is the strongest in the academy. She later confessed to a cross-dressing Lux that she actually doesn't hate men, she simply doesn't know how to interact with men her age. She was tutored by Lux's maternal grandfather and felt guilty that he was imprisoned for trying to reform the Empire's policies, dying in prison. After Lux saves her from the Ragnarok and confesses the truth, he comments that he doesn't blame her, while revealing the truth about the cross dressing. She forgives Lux for the deceit, while also falling in love with him.

Yoruka Kirihime

Voiced by: Shizuka Ishigami

Formerly Lux's father's personal assassin she now pledges her loyalty to Lux due to her promise made with the royal family. Nicknamed the "Empire's Assassin Blade", she calls Lux, 'Master'. She wields the Drag-Ride "Yato no Kami". At her first appearance, she tried persuade Lux to join the rebel to take down Atismata Empire in the order rebuild the Arcadia. Lux refuse and beat her, then she found out the reason Lux join the coup 5 years ago, after that she changes side and following Lux.

Airi Arcadia

Voiced by: Ari Ozawa

Lux's sister. She seems to love him more than a sister normally should, but she's not afraid to berate him. She doesn’t have any Drag-Ride and she also always, tells anyone within hearing range about her brother's abilities (usually Noct) whenever he's in an important combat.

Relie Aingram

Voiced by: Yoko Hikasa

Relie is the principal of Royal Officer Academy and Philuffy's older sister. She likes teasing Lux and watching his reactions. She is the one who recommended Lux to join the academy when Lux was busted by entered female academy bathroom.

Shalice Balshift

Voiced by: Yumi Uchiyama

The leader of Triad, a group made up of her childhood friends. A third year. She pilots a Wyvern.

Tillfur Lilimit

Voiced by: Shiori Izawa

A member of Triad. A second year. She pilots a Wyvern. She always called Lux with nickname “Lukkuchii”.

Noct Leaflet

Voiced by: Rie Takahashi

A member of Triad who pilots a Drake. She is Airi's roommate and best friend. She often begins her sentences with "Yes" or "No". She also takes an interest in Lux because of his seemly blatant disinterest in her.

Fugil Arcadia

Voiced by: Ryota Osaka

Lux and Airi's older half brother, former First Prince of the Arcadia Empire and the original pilot of Bahamut. During the coup, he killed his father the emperor and the entire imperial court, while Lux was busy fighting the 1200 drag knight bodyguards outside. It is shown that everything he does is for his own amusement.

Hayes     

A strategist of the Heiburg Republic and one of the series' main antagonists. She is also a black marketer who provides arms to aristocrats all over the world so she could watch them fall into political chaos from within. It is later revealed that she was the Second Princess of the Old Empire and one of the few Arcadia House's survivors alongside Lux, Airi, and Fugil. She wields the Drag-Ride "Nidhogg."
